Pearl II will embark on its final Saga Cruises voyage in 2019, with the
Spirit of Discovery joining the fleet as the line’s first newbuild in
Febr.19-2019 The Saga Pearl II is now on her final voyage for Saga Cruises, a South African Farewell. The ship returns to Portsmouth on April 11
April 2019 - The 456-berth Saga Pearl II, which is being replaced by then new 999-berth Spirit of Discovery, Saga’s first newbuilding.
Saga Pearl II has been sold to Aqua Explorer Holdings, based in the British Virgin Islands. She is now at the Greek port of Perama.She had operated under several names, after Astor, as the Arkona, Astoria, Saga Pearl II, Quest for Adventure and Saga Pearl II once again.
|UK - 20 April 2011 The Saga Pearl II will be transfered to the Spirit for Adventure brand in May 2012.Saga Holidays has confirmed that Saga Pearl II will be renamed to Quest for Adventure. She will take over the schedule from the Spirit of Adventure from May 2012.Unlike Spirit of Adventure, which Saga has always insisted is a separate cruise line that happens to share the same parent company, Quest for Adventure will be part of Saga, sailing under the Spirit of Adventure sub-brand. Once again the Quest for Adventure will assume the name Saga Pearl II late 2013|
|Original built for the defunct Astor-Cruises. Sailed for Seetours from 1985 to 2002 as Arkona. Start sailing for German touroperator Transocean in 2002. Aquired by Club -Cruise The Netherlands from Sovcom in 2007and remain on charter to Transocean until 2009. Club Cruise went for bankrupt in febr. 2009 after Saga aquired the Astoria.|
